Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to recognize your device, maintain your session, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the service. Similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and browser fingerprinting serve comparable purposes.
Cookies We Use
Genkō uses the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. They include session cookies that maintain your authenticated state, CSRF protection tokens, and security-related cookies. No personally identifiable information is stored in these cookies beyond what is required to identify your session.
Functional Cookies
Functional cookies remember your preferences — such as your selected timezone, language, and UI theme — so you do not need to reconfigure them on each visit. These can be disabled, but doing so may degrade your experience.
Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our marketing website (not the authenticated dashboard). GA4 collects anonymized usage data such as pages viewed, session duration, and referral source. IP addresses are anonymized. These cookies are not set in the authenticated dashboard or the patient portal. You can opt out by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
Security and Bot Detection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on signup and other sensitive forms to verify that submissions are from humans and not automated bots. Turnstile may set cookies and use browser signals for challenge purposes. It does not track users across sites and does not collect behavioral data. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Cookies We Do Not Use
Genkō does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not sell your data or share it with advertising networks. We do not use cross-site tracking technologies or behavioral advertising cookies on any part of the platform.
Session Storage and Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser session storage and local storage to temporarily hold UI state such as form drafts, navigation preferences, and onboarding progress. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers independently. Session storage is cleared when you close your browser tab; local storage persists until cleared.
Third-Party Services
Our platform integrates with third-party services that may set their own cookies:
Stripe
If you complete a payment through our Stripe-hosted checkout, Stripe may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
Google OAuth
If you sign in with Google, Google may set authentication cookies. These are governed by Google's privacy policy.
Supabase
Our database and authentication infrastructure is provided by Supabase. Auth session tokens are stored in cookies set by Supabase's client library and are required for your authenticated session.
Managing Your Preferences
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when cookies are set. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform.
Browser Settings
Instructions for managing cookies in major browsers: Chrome — Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data. Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
Opt-Out of Analytics
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Cookie Retention
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies (such as analytics and preference cookies) are retained for up to 13 months. You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features or third-party integrations. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the date of the last update.
